Friday, Apr 23, 2010

Sierra Monitor Corporation (OTCBB: SRMC), a Cleantech focused company that designs, manufactures and sells electronic safety and environmental instrumentation, announced that it has shipped its first order of life safety gas and flame monitoring equipment for use by the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). The products will be used to replace aging Fire and Gas Detection systems at three on-shore locations in the Bab Field. The Bab Field area of Abu Dhabi, which produces over 1.4 million barrels of oil per day, accounts for more than half of the oil production by the United Arab Emirates.

"Our confidence in the market for our products in the Middle East is reinforced by this opportunity to sell US manufactured gas detection products to a prestige user such as ADCO," said Gordon R. Arnold, Sierra Monitor president and chief executive officer. "Our investment in opening our Dubai sales office and working to obtain product and supplier approvals from the region's top gas and petroleum producers is beginning to benefit our overall sales."

Sierra Monitor manufacturers and distributes a broad range of toxic gas monitors, combustible gas monitors and flame detectors used in a variety of industrial applications including petro-chemical industries.
